Travel Peru

Sierra | Selva | Costa

The Peruvians divide their country into three main areas: la Costa, Selva and Sierra. Translated this means the Coast, Jungle, and Mountains. This symbolizes exactly what we experienced in Peru, it has it all. In this Peru Travel Guide, we will share our favorite destinations in Peru.

Peru’s Mountains

Of course, there are some highlights you have to see, like Machu Picchu, the Rainbow Mountains, and the Red valley. All are very close to Cusco, the most beautiful city in Peru. Although there are various ways to arrive at Machu Picchu, we completed the Salkantay Trek! It was an amazing experience and we wrote an article with everything you need to know beforehand!

Peru’s Amazon Jungle

However, if you are ready to travel a little further, you can tick the Amazon from your bucket list too. Hold Anacondas, sloths and share your bananas with a group of monkeys during a Jungle tour in Iquitos. Get there by plane, or, way more of the beaten track and special, by Cargo Boat.

Peru’s Beaches & Surfing

Moreover, Peru offers some of the best surfing in South America so and this should be included in each Peru travel guide! Have you always wanted to surf the longest left break in the world? You can at the beach in the small town of Chicama. Surf in the town where it once all started with the iconic fishing boats: Huanchaco. Or make a day trip from Lima to the waves of Punta Hermosa. Lastly, our very favorite beach town in Peru should not miss in your itinerary: Mancora

And this is only the tip of the iceberg of places to visit.
